I have a question about … ne demek?
"I have a question about …." Türkçede "… hakkında bir sorum var." demektir ve belli bir konuda soru sorulacağını önceden belirterek söze girmenin açık ve kibar yoludur. Toplantıda söz alırken, e-postanın başında ya da bir yetkiliye danışırken konuyu baştan belirtmek için kullanılır; dinleyen kişi neyin sorulacağını hemen anlar. Okunuşu "ay hev ı kvesçın ıbaut …." şeklindedir. Örneğin "Hi, I have a question about the new system." (hay, ay hev ı kvesçın ıbaut dı nu sistım.) cümlesi "Merhaba, yeni sistemle ilgili bir sorum var." demektir. "About" bir edat olduğu için boşluğa sorunun konusu bir isim olarak gelir: the project, my contract, the budget, next week's schedule gibi. A1 seviyesindeki bu kalıp toplantılarda, sözleşme ya da bütçe gibi konuların konuşulduğu görüşmelerde ve iş e-postalarında sık geçer. En yaygın hata "I have a question for the project." demektir; doğrusu "I have a question about the project." biçimidir. "İle ilgili" anlamı "about" ile verilir; "for" ise sorunun kime yöneltildiğini anlatır ve "a question for you" yapısında görülür.
